1. Connecting Capitals is a creative exchange project between Gallaudet University and BOZAR that uses art-making, education, and technology to connect and empower Deaf youth between the ages of 18-27 from the United States and Belgium.
2. Through this program, Deaf youth explored the meaning of digital citizenship and being a global citizen, through heritages, community engagement, understanding identities, and finding a common connection as a part of the global Deaf community.
3. With appreciation to our partners at BOZAR (The Centre of Fine Arts in Brussels), and Motion Light Lab at Visual Language and Visual Learning, Gallaudet University, we present this creative collection to you.
4. "The Collection" exhibits individual works, addressing their thoughts on heritages, identities, and creative expressions.
5. This project is made possible by the Connecting Communities Heritage program by World Learning, a division of the U.S. Department of State.
6. This "digital coffee table book" is a result of the creative and artistic co-creation of the participants in the project.
7. In this app, you can read "Letter to the Future" a collective letter by the group, addressing the future, that reflects current social struggles.
8. "Learn Signs" give you a taste of the multiple languages we navigated through this project: ASL, English, Dutch, VGT, French, and LSFB.
9. There is a translation in American Sign Language, told by Joey Antonio.
